Co-hosts Christian Bautista and Erik Santos, both contestants of the reality search singing contest Star In A Million that launched their showbiz careers, line up with hopefuls of Star Power: Sharon’s Search for the Next Female Pop Superstar , the first weekly nationwide female singing contest search as hosted by Megastar Sharon Cuneta.
On Aug. 19 to 21, Christian and Eric travelled to Cebu to shoot footages for the preliminary auditions. Hundreds of female contestant wannabees lined up in ABS-CBN’s Studio (Cebu) for the chance to audition for a searching panel of judges, Executive Producer Crissy Baluyut, ABS-CBN Regional Network Executive Roland Padriga and Singer/Talent Manager Carlo Orosa. Many contestants shared interesting personal stories about their lives, their struggles and triumphs while going thru the process of auditions.
The following weekend, the search continued on to Davao to screen more hopefuls for the Mindanao Area.

Former singing contestants Christian Bautista and Erik Santos will soon be joined with Megastar Sharon Cuneta in a weekly nationwide female singing contest search called “STAR POWER: Sharon’s Search for the next Female Pop Superstar.”
Christian said, “I hope to contribute fun and excitement to this new singing contest. Though I didn’t win before, through hard work and faith I was able to reach my dreams. I want to be able to share those valuable experiences to the contestants too.”
Erik, for his part, shared, ” I hope to inspire the contestants and show them not only does it take talent, but lots of patience, hard work and humility, to make it in this business.”

SM Rosario definitely enjoyed the Prince of Pop’s “Erik Santos: The Jim Brickman Songbook” mallshow last Friday, August 27, 2010. Erik opened the show with “Next In Line” where he got just about everyone to sing along. He rendered the sweetest song “Valentine”, playfully serenaded a girl from the audience with “My Love Is Here”, sang “My Destiny” upon request, and poured his heart out in one of his best versions of “Lupa”. Non-stop cheering pretty much drowned the background music, but Erik’s powerful voice still soared above for all to enjoy.

ABS-CBN will stage a two-day audition this week in Davao City for its newest singing competition show.
Star Power will accept talented girls, from 15 to 21 years old, in the audition to be held at the studio of the Kapamilya Network, along Broadcast Avenue, Shrine Hills, Matina. Audition will be on Saturday and Sunday, from 8 am to 3pm.
It’s the first audition for the nationwide competition which will be hosted by MegaStar Sharon Cuneta. Auditions will also later be held in Cebu and Manila.
